MWR’s Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta
Wed., Aug. 19th from 3:30-6 PM
Engineer the greatest boat out of cardboard for a race on Seabee Beach!
Open to: All Hands
Judging is at 4 pm and races begin at 4:30 pm!
- Mon., Aug. 3: Registration forms distributed to the barracks.
- Fri., Aug. 14: Registration forms are due to the Loft (B2A) or Community Recreation (B13).
- Each team will receive 10 rolls of duct tape from MWR with registration.
- Teams may use additional duct tape not provided by MWR.
- All teams must be present on Seabee Beach by 3:30 pm. Be prepared to check-in. Races will begin shortly after judging has concluded.
- Winners for each judging category will be announced at the conclusion of the races!
Family Heat:
- Families compete against one another for 1st place!
- Families can pick up duct tape at Community Recreation (B13).
- Must be at least 10 years old to paddle your boat. Anyone under 18 has to have a waiver signed by their guardian in order to participate in race.
